Multiple site functions.
A geocomposite brings two or more geosynthetic materials together as a single engineered layer. A permeable geotextile admits water and retains soil fines, while the open polymer core creates a continuous route for water or gas to travel toward a designed outlet.
This combined construction simplifies installation and can provide drainage, filtration, separation and protection without assembling several independent layers on site.

Geonet–geotextile composites
A high-flow geonet core is laminated with a nonwoven geotextile filter on one or both faces. Water enters through the textile, travels laterally through the open core and reaches the designed outlet, while fine soil particles remain outside the drainage path.
CORE FUNCTIONS

Clearly defined.
Drainage
Water passes through the filter and moves through the core toward a pipe or outlet, relieving hydrostatic pressure around walls and buried structures.
Filtration
Selected pore size allows water through while retaining fines at the surface, protecting the core from progressive clogging.
Separation
The composite prevents fine subgrade from migrating into coarse fill, preserving layer integrity, bearing capacity and settlement performance.
Load distribution
The layered build can reduce local stress concentration as a secondary benefit. Where tensile reinforcement is required, Park pairs the drainage layer with a suitable geogrid.
SYSTEM INTERACTION
Why the layers must
work as one.
Geonet cores commonly provide approximately 80–95% internal void space, allowing much faster lateral flow than the surrounding soil. Capacity alone is not enough: the filter, core and bond must remain compatible under the project’s load and hydraulic conditions.
At the interface, friction between fibres, soil particles and larger aggregates helps resist sliding. That interaction supports stability in retaining walls, embankments and other loaded drainage applications.
